Product testing at Ai

Stainless steel is a marvelous product that has unique characteristics.

The Intrack team at Ai are currently fabricating a range of high strength stainless steel window mullions for a Melbourne building. These welded mullions will carry enormous wind loads and deflection limits need to be clearly understood. In order to assure our customer and site engineers of the actual capability of the product, a test rig was developed at Ai Keysborough to test the tensile properties of a window member to assure its performance on site. Analysis of weld strengths, fillet depths and positioning of welds were all measured under load. The result is a product that is confirmed fit for purpose.
